Here are a recent set of ceramic carvings I made with a penknife....every cut will be made on a greater scale down in London on the wood sculptures. This mini-carving approach allows me to see volumes and problems in form that I will be dealing with in public during the project...I need to be economical and decisive ?...no more than six hours carving a sculpture a day.
